Manchester United And France Midfielder Paul Pogba Has Revealed His Dark Horse For Euro 2020

At Euro 2016 in France, Wales reached the semi-finals in what was their European Championship debut and first major tournament since the 1958 World Cup.

An unforgettable run saw Chris Coleman’s side top their group ahead of England and knock out Belgium in a thrilling quarter final victory, before they were beaten by eventual winners Portugal.

This time around they have been placed in Group A along with Switzerland, Italy and Turkey but Pogba reckons they can repeat their success.

He and his France teammates played Wales in a 3-0 friendly win in Nice recently and the World Cup winner spoke glowingly about them when chatting to Manchester United teammate colleague Dan James after the game.

“I spoke to Paul after the game and he said ‘we’ve got a great team and we’ve got a great chance,’ which is always great to hear,” James said, as per Wales Online.

“We fully believe in ourselves. We are here for a reason – we are not just here to take part.

“We believe we can go into every game with that winning mentality.”

James watched Wales’ first Euros on the TV as a fan and now he goes into their second campaign as a key member of Robert Page’s squad.

“For Euro 2016, I was in Marbella at the time. I watched it out there, I was on holiday,” the winger added.

“It was crazy really. The expectations were never to get that far. It was just brilliant to watch and we can take that into this tournament.”

Euro 2020 gets under way on Friday evening, with Wales’ Group A opponents Italy and Turkey kicking proceedings over in Rome.
